oh...when me and my husband go downtown baltimore at night time life if we are going out to dinner or something, we always have left evers. we always come across a homeless person and always give them the leftovers...i never understood why people are so cruel to homeless people, let alone cruel to people who are less fortunate than them.

First of all, why are they stupid homeless people? And if you want to "help" them, why not STOP and give them some cans? Homeless people are homeless for a number of reasons. Don't assume they are homeless b/c they chose to be. Sometime life hands you something you can't help. I always give homeless people change or money. If they are going to buy a 40 with it then oh well he can do what he wants with the money I gave him. Some people are just heartless.

You dont know peoples stories and what lead to them being homeless the sad truth is a good part of America is only one pay check away from being homeless. If some thing happend and they lost there job it could happen to them (to the people being rude and looking down at those that are homeless). I am thankful I have a house and food and get to live a really good life, I try to help when I can for that reason.

San Diego has tons of them.... but where I grew up it was rural NC, and we had none. I guess bigger cities see more of this. I wonder if its because small towns have a tendency to help "your" neighbor more? Hmm

I think you see more in the city b/c you have a bigger chance of getting help, or shelter but a small town not so much. I know small towns tend to stick together.

I never give homeless people money, but I do on occasion give them food.

My friend Josh pretended to be homeless when we were in HS and he made like $80 a day, just like working f/t at a customer service job. Except that he made that much in 3-4 hrs a day.

Just think about that next time you start handing them change. Oh, by the way: He bought beer and drugs with the money. Wink
